Manchester's Christmas Markets are being taken down again for another year. Council officials begun taking down the wooden huts in a major overnight operation on Sunday night (December 22).
The massive Winter event officially ended its six-week run after opening on November 8. Taking over nine spots across the city centre, this year’s annual markets have featured more than 200 stalls, with an estimated nine million people visiting them over the course of the festive season.
Alongside market staples like Bratwurst and Dutch mini pancakes, this year’s markets have been varied and vast across not just food and drink, but also via homeware, clothing and other unique gifts.
Since opening in 1998, Manchester Christmas markets have grown into a six-week spectacular, and the cornerstone of the Greater Manchester's festive calendar.
