An easyJet flight to Manchester was forced to suddenly divert due to a medical incident on board. The EZY2254 flight from Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, landed in Geneva after the captain required medial assistance.
Paramedics came on board after the plane had landed last Tuesday (February 4) before passengers were given hotel rooms for the night before returning the following day.
The airline has confirmed that the first officer landed the plane after the pilot required medical assistance and has apologised for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
The incident came days before a different easyJet flight, from Hurghada, also had to suddenly divert after one of the pilots suffered a medical emergency on Saturday (February 8). "Just over four hours into the flight we made an emergency landing in Geneva as the captain took ill," one passenger who was on board said. "The cabin crew announced we were diverting due to a medical issue with a member of the crew and we landed after a rapid descent at Geneva. "The paramedics came on and took the captain off to hospital.
