A warning has been issued to holidaymakers and staff driving to Manchester Airport in advance of major resurfacing work along sections of the M56 motorway.
All work to resurface one of the busiest sections of the M56 - around Manchester Airport - will be carried out overnight, with the project set to start next month.
No exact timescale for the work has been revealed by National Highways, but bosses said they are 'aiming to be well out of the way before the start of the school summer holiday period'. The work involves worn sections of both the eastbound and westbound carriageway between junction five at the airport and junction six at Hale Barns.
