Liverpool have edged out Manchester United in the race to sign Celta Vigo starlet Stefan Bajcetic, according to reports in Spain.
The Premier League duo have been battling to sign 16-year-old Bajcetic, who enjoyed a breakout 2019/20 season and has been promoted to Celta's Youth B outfit.
United was believed to be the young centre-back's preferred destination and both parties were keen to complete the deal within a matter of days.
But Faro de Vigo claims Liverpool submitted a successful "last-minute" swoop to land Bajcetic, who is now set to "pack his bags for Anfield" with the help of an emissary from Merseyside.
