Liverpool are considering activating RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner's £51m release clause but it seems they will still face competition in the form of Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.
Along with Erling Haaland, Werner has been one of europe's most in form front men this season, scoring 27 goals and supplying 12 assists in 36 games.
It had seemed that Chelsea had dropped out of the running for the 24-year-old and United were focussing their transfer attention elsewhere.
