Having already secured deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, Chelsea have shown an increased willingness to invest in the squad this summer.
Roman Abramovic had been hesitant to spend as lavishly as previously in more recent years, but with the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City only growing and the FFP rules relaxed due to coronavirus, it seems he is once again willing to invest his own money into the squad.
Chelsea are also on track to qualify for the Champions League. Bar a slip-up against West Ham United, Frank Lampard’s side have been excellent since the restart, leading many to suggest that they are building a team that is capable of competing for the Premier League title.
