Manchester United were interested in signing Atletico Madrid and England defender Kieran Trippier. The former Tottenham right-back may have been suspended by the Football Association for alleged betting offences, but he is free to play on until his appeal with FIFA concludes.
The 30-year-old has impressed since leaving north London for La Liga back in 2019, having signed a three-year contract after a fee was agreed in the region of £20m.
