Man Utd change their minds on letting players leave club this summer

Manchester United will not allow any player under the age of 19 to leave this summer, with the club underlining their duty of care to young footballers in uncertain times.

Youth football across the country was cancelled and seasons were curtailed in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, with some players left in limbo as they were unsure of their status at various clubs.

United's under-23s were ultimately promoted to the top tier of Premier League 2 on a points-per-game basis, but they and the club's other youth teams have only recently been allowed to return to training following government advice.
