The footage, which was shared on Twitter on Friday afternoon, shows a man swearing at demonstrators outside a shop in McAllen, Texas.
The 44-year-old, who has not been identified, was later arrested by McAllen Police Department, NBC News reports. The clip - which has now been viewed nearly a million times - shows a man wearing a red shirt and jeans getting out of a truck and approaching protesters with a live chainsaw.
He can then be heard shouting at the group, who appear to be making their way to a gathering, to move while he revved the machine.
