A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a van flipped onto its roof on a motorway. The crash happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M67 near Hyde on Thursday afternoon.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene but the casualty was taken to hospital in a road ambulance. He was said to be in a serious but not life-threatening condition in hospital.
The motorway was re-opened at about 3pm. A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 1.50pm this afternoon, (Thursday 13 April 2023), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision on M67 eastbound close to junction 3 in Hyde, Tameside. "Emergency services attended the scene and one male was taken to hospital with serious injuries but these are not believed to be life threatening. "A 47-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a Class B drug. "The M67 was closed in both directions for a short time to allow the air ambulance to land although the casualty was ultimately conveyed in a land ambulance. "Police and National Highways remained at the scene pending recovery of the vehicle with only the west bound exit slip road at junction 3 closed.
