Man stabbed to death after fight as forensics scour scene and cops hunt blade thugs

A young man has died after being stabbed during a fight. Emergency services were scrambled to Moss Lane East in Manchester after receiving a call from the 22-year-old's friend at around 10pm last night.It is understood the pals were involved in a disturbance with two other men, who fled the scene in a car.The victim was rushed to hospital but sadly died there shortly after arrival.

Police have launched a probe into the killing and are hunting the two attackers, Manchester Evening News reports.This morning, a large cordon remains in place, with several evidence markers placed on the road by crime scene investigators.

Forensics teams have been spotted on the scene, with two tents erected within the police tape.Greater Manchester Police believe the attack was "not random" and have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or that may have information, to come forward.A GMP spokesperson said on Thursday morning: "Shortly after 10pm on Wednesday 26 October 2023, police were called to report of a man with a serious stab wound on Moss Lane East in Moss Side."Officers and other emergency services attended and found a 22-year-old man with serious and life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he sadly died last night."From initial enquiries, it is believed there was a disturbance between the victim and his friend with two other men on Moss Lane East.
