Man stabbed during 'disturbance' in north Manchester

There was a large police presence on a housing estate in north Manchester yesterday after a man was stabbed. It happened on Ashley Lane in Moston at around 2:30pm in the afternoon.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called to a 'disturbance.' in the area. Shortly after a man arrived at hospital with stab wounds.

His injuries are not life-threatening the force said. An eyewitness said there were a large number of police vehicles on Ashley Lane in the hours afterwards.

Tape had been put up with officers appearing to be standing guard outside the gate to a property, they said.
