A Manchester-based waste and recycling company has been fined more than £100,000 after a man lost his leg in a horror digger incident.
The incident happened at the Pink Skips (NW) Ltd site in Levenshulme on October 5, 2022. The worker - a 41-year-old man - was sorting refuse with two other colleagues as a 360-excavator was being used to move waste in the same area, according to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
As he stood behind the vehicle, it suddenly reversed and hit him. The heavy machinery ran over his leg and he was rushed to hospital. READ NEXT: Tragedy as woman dies after being pulled from water at Salford Quays The dad had to have his leg amputated above the knee.
