A man in his 50s has been rushed to hospital after being 'hit by a bus' in Longsight. Greater Manchester Police says he has been left with serious injuries following the incident on Stockport Road yesterday (October 12).
Officers were called out at to reports of a bus, which was travelling along Stockport Road, colliding with a man crossing the junction of Richmond Grove East at around 4.48pm.
He remains in hospital for treatment, GMP says. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Officers closed off the A6 Stockport Road for a number of hours between Plymouth Grove and the Islamic Academy of Manchester following the collision yesterday.
