A man has been arrested after armed police were called to a scene in Salford following reports of a person acting suspiciously outside a parade of shops.
Emergency services were called to Liverpool Road in Eccles at around 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon (October 28). A stretch of the busy road was closed off with a police cordon as officers investigated.
Greater Manchester Police said a 52-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of affray and the possession of a bladed article.
Police said the man was seen throwing ‘white powder’ at the scene.
