That is according to The Athletic who claim the Blues will offer Sterling a new deal when he returns to Manchester once his holiday after Euro 2020 concludes, with confidence growing among Etihad chiefs that a new contract would safeguard his future.
It doesn't seem that straightforward, though, because, despite Sterling's outstanding performances with England in recent weeks, it's said that if the player does want to leave or a substantial bid arrives an exit could be possible, although that seems unlikely.
