The in-form midfielder missed the win over Everton in midweek with a groin injury but he played a part in training on Friday and a final decision on his participation will be made on Saturday.
Gundogan has scored 11 goals in his last 12 appearances for City and his form in a more advanced role has been a key part of the Blues' revival in recent weeks.
In his absence in midweek Phil Foden played in midfield, with Kevin de Bruyne making his own return from an injury in the second half.
