Man, 62, in hospital with 'serious injuries' after he was hit by lorry

Emergency services closed Mount Road, Gorton, in both directions after the incident at around 12.50pm. The crash happened between Melland Road and Thomson Road.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the collision had been between a lorry and a pedestrian. The 62-year-old man is in hospital and his injuries are believed to be serious.

No arrests have been made. The road was shut for three hours and buses were diverted. Writing on social media, Stagecoach said the Route 150 was back to a normal service.
