A water buffalo has killed a 57-year-old farmer and injured two other people in Wales. The giant animal went on a rampage at a farm shortly before 3pm in the village of Gwehelog, Monmouthshire.
The farmer had died by the time emergency services arrived at the scene. A 19-year-old man – believed to be the farmer's son – was airlifted by helicopter to hospital where his condition is described as "critical".
The buffalo, believed to be kept for milk for cheese, has now been put down. A young woman also suffered leg injuries, but they are not thought to be serious.
A neighbouring farmer said: "We'd heard that they had started having water buffalo to keep for cheese because it is getting very popular.
