Mrs Brown's Boys' Brendan O'Carroll snubs BBC show's 'woke' critics over transphobic claim
BBC show, Mrs Brown's Boys.The Agnes Brown actor said he doesn't take any of their views into account when creating the sitcom's latest episodes. The show has hit viewers' screens in the form of specials recently, since the last full season of the show ended in 2013.However, despite the BBC saying the sitcom will continue to air until 2026, recent specials have been dubbed "worse than testing positive for Omicron". It comes after Brendan was slammed by The One Show viewers earlier this year after making what fans perceived as a "racist remark".The actor was live with A Madea Homecoming star Tyler Perry in February when he made the comments that earned him backlash from fans on social media.Brendan said when quizzed on whether Tyler could join the cast of Mrs Brown's Boys: "He's very expensive, and so far we haven’t had anyone of his colour in there so I don't know if we could have him in."But you know what, I'd love that, but I think more importantly I'd love to do another movie with him."Despite the outrage from the public, Tyler went on to insist he wasn't offended by Brendan's controversial remarks on the programme.Elsewhere, viewers have called for the show to be "cancelled" and have accused it of being "transphobic". However, Brendan has said the "woke" critics aren't holding him back from moving forwards with his show.
