The Trotters were due to be in action in League Two over the weekend against the Ammies at the Peninsula Stadium. But the clash was called off more than an hour before kick-off in light of a waterlogged pitch.
However, the close distance of Salford to Bolton meant that last Saturday did not need to be a wasted day for Wanderers. Instead, the squad got back on the team coach and headed to the club's Lostock training base.
The club's ground staff prepared a pitch despite the poor weather conditions in the North West at present which allowed more useful time for Evatt with his squad to work.
And the Bolton boss paid tribute to the efforts the staff went to, believing it is part of the culture behind the scenes at the University of Bolton.
