Boris Johnson outlined his new rules for the tier-three system on Monday (November 23). The move from shops will ensure Brits can get their Christmas shopping complete before the festivities begin.
And it will stop retailers from being so crammed to make it difficult to maintain social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.
It is believed Marks and Spencer is opening its branches until midnight which will apply on December 21, 22 and 23. While supermarket giant Aldi plans to keep stores open until 11pm from the same dates too.
Waitrose claims smaller stores will remain open until 11pm on December 21, 22 and 23, while larger branches will close at 10pm.
