Love it or loathe it, Love Island is here and if the ratings are anything to go by - the divisive dating show is not going anywhere.
While drawing in millions of viewers, the ITV2 dating show has not been without its controversy with accusations of bullying, racism and misogyny surrounding the format in recent years.
Addressing the scandal, ex-islander and former winner of the show Amber Gill has spoken out in defence of the jewel in ITV2's rating crown saying it's "just a bit of fun".
Speaking to Closer, the former beautician said: "Personally I think people need to remember that Love Island is entertainment. "It doesn't need to made into something it's not.
