Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentScandinavia’s leading streamer Viaplay has ordered “End of Summer,” a psychological thriller based Anders de la Motte’s bestselling Swedish novel of the same name.Jens Jonsson (“Young Wallander”) and Henrik Georgsson (“The Bridge”) are on board to direct the series which is penned by Björn Carlström (“Jägarna”) and Stefan Thunberg (“Wallander’) as head writers. Per Janérus at Harmonica Films is producing with SF Studios and Film i Skåne.A Viaplay Original, “End of Summer” will premiere on the platform in 2023.

EXCLUSIVE: Dennis Quaid (Midway), Isabelle Fuhrman (The Novice), David Thewlis (Fargo), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games franchise) and Kiera Allen (The Good Doctor) will star in the sci-fi mystery Littlemouth, which has entered production in the Cayman Islands. Jonathan Sobol (The Padre) wrote the script and is directing for Productivity Media and and Darius Films.

Naman Ramachandran The European Genre Film Foundation (EGFF), aimed at restoring and raising awareness of classic genre films in Europe and globally, launched at Cannes on Tuesday.The non-profit organization, headquartered in Stockholm, will work with film libraries, archives, rights holders, academics, film festivals and other institutions.
