Atlanta Black Pride Weekend has announced the honorees of this year’s 10th annual Pure Heat Community Festival, as well as other events happening throughout the Labor Day weekend.

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday night live from Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center. Taylor Swift picked up the coveted Video of the Year and announced she's releasing a new album.

What a year it’s been for music!

MTV VMAs brought some of the biggest names in music to the stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Sunday. From exciting performances to powerful speeches, this year's VMAs were a celebration of joy.Featuring a trio of hosts that included LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow, the high-energy gala was pulsing with energy and enthusiasm as some of the biggest names in music took the stage — both to perform their massive hit singles and to accept some of the night's top honors.As usual the slew of musical artists delivering TV debuts of their latest hits provided most of the night's biggest highlights, alongside a few artists making their big returns to the VMAs stage for the first time in years.Here's a look at some of the biggest performances and most memorable moments from Sunday's big show.Harlow opened the show with a performance of «First Class,» delivered inside an airplane set. Dressed as a flight attendant, Harlow was flanked by seated celebrities on both sides, including Lil Nas X, Avril Lavigne, Chloe Bailey, Jimmy Fallon, Saucy Santana and Becky G. The 24-year-old singer then surprised the crowd when he brought out Fergie.

Hosted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow, the 38th annual VMAs will begin at 8 p.m. ET at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The pre-show, hosted by Nessa and Kevan Kenney, with special celebrity correspondent Tate McRae, will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET. Pre-show performers include Dove Cameron, Yung Gravy and Saucy Santana. In addition to airing live on MTV, the in-person ceremony will be simulcast on The CW, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand and VH1.

MTV VMAs are just days away, and this year’s ceremony will see top artists like Harry Styles, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Drake, and Taylor Swift battle it out for the top awards. Music fans will get to enjoy performances from stars like Nicki Minaj, BLACKPINK, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, in between finding out if their favourite artists have won big. Plus, actor Johnny Depp has been rumoured to be attending the VMAs, dressed as the Moonman mascot, as reported by TMZ.

Carson Burton Yung Gravy, Dove Cameron and MTV PUSH artist Saucy Santana are set to perform during the VMAs pre-show event.The 90-minute event is hosted by Nessa and Kevan Kenney and will also feature coverage from Tate McRae, who joins as a special celebrity correspondent. Murda Beatz will also make an appearance as the Kraft Singles House DJ. The pre-show will air live on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Adrienne Bailon Houghton is wearing her heart on her hand. The 38-year-old former co-host of  showed off a new tattoo on Thursday, the same week that she and husband Israel Houghton announced the arrival of their newborn son via surrogate. The fresh ink is of her baby boy's name, Ever, written in delicate script along the side of her hand. «So in love with my new @everjames tattoo,» Adrienne wrote on her Instagram story, tagging New York-based tattoo artist Michelle Santana. The couple took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared a black-and-white photo of Adrienne and Israel gazing at the baby boy they've named Ever James.

Carlos Santana has made his return to the stage.The legendary guitarist performed on stage at a concert in Connecticut on Friday, more than a month after he collapsed on stage during a show in Clarkston, Michigan, and was hospitalized for exhaustion.Before his show in Connecticut on Friday, a smiling Santana was spotted leaving a hotel in New York City where he chatted with photographers before getting into his limo.After his frightening health scare on July 5, the 75-year-old musician announced that he had to postpone six additional shows on his Miraculous Supernatural 2022 tour.The news of the postponed shows came just minutes before he was set to take the stage with Earth, Wind & Fire at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville.According to the , a «collective groan» among the 20,000 fans was heard when the news of the postponement was read on stage.The musician is currently on his summer-long Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour, alongside Earth, Wind & Fire. The tour launched on June 17 and is scheduled to go through August.

Legendary musician Carlos Santana is back to business as usual, after a scary collapse last month at one of his concerts.  While performing in Michigan on July 5, Santana fell on stage. He was treated by medics after passing out, and was eventually removed, but not before waving to a crowd of fans, according to FOX 2 Detroit and fan video. Santana, 75, was reportedly affected by the extreme heat in Michigan.

Michelle Branch, who scored a Grammy for singing on the 2002 Santana single “The Game of Love” and had other hits during the era, was arrested Thursday in Nashville and charged with domestic assault for slapping her estranged husband, Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney.

The arrest took place following the announcement that Branch was splitting from her husband of three years, “The Black Keys” drummer Patrick Carney.
