Some suggest it would be impossible for any other club to lure the forward away from the Nou Camp, but off-the field issues could have made him leave.
Four years ago, Messi and his father Jorge were found guilty of tax fraud and handed a 21-month suspended prison sentence. While Leo agreed to pay a hefty fine, he always believed that the incident was made out to be worse than it actually was.
