Adrian Dunbar has dropped a major hint about the return of Line of Duty, three years after the BBC drama's sensational finale.

Fans were left in limbo when Martin Compston first revealed there were "no immediate plans" to revive the series. In May, Vicky McClure, another standout star of the show, skilfully sidestepped questions about a potential comeback during an interview on ITV's This Morning.

However, whispers of a return have been growing in recent months, as Martin, Vicky and Adrian reportedly met with show creator Jed Mercurio to discuss a deal and filming dates for a seventh season.

Now, Adrian, 66, has suggested that the show could be making a comeback to the BBC, with only a script still needed. Speaking on Times Radio this Monday, November 11, about a possible Line Of Duty return, Adrian said: "I hope so.
