Lifeline East Kilbride dementia charity launch crowdfunder to survive cost of living crisis

East Kilbride's only day care centre for people living with dementia urgently needs donations to survive the cost of living crisis.As reported in the East Kilbride News, EK Dementia Carers Group was crippled by huge losses through the Covid pandemic after being forced to close due to restrictions.The lifeline Greenhills-based charity is under intense pressure post-pandemic as it fights to continue to provide a much-needed service to the local community amid the current cost of living crisis.

It lost nearly £20,000 last year and, with the cost of living hitting hard, is on course to lose the same again in 2023.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Brian told Lanarkshire Live: "Covid restrictions and the cost of living crisis have combined to hit us hard. "Our fundraising events have re-started, but we desperately need additional funds to see us through the short-term shortfall. "A funding appeal on Crowdfunder has been launched which will be match funded by the Co-op up to a maximum of £5,000.
