‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel Series Casts Tom Everett Scott As Elle’s Dad
deadline.comTom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do, The Summer I Turned Pretty) has joined the cast of Prime Video‘s Legally Blonde prequel series Elle, executive produced by the film franchise’s star Reese Witherspoon.
From creator Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure), the series follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman in the first Legally Blonde film.
In a series regular role, Scott will star as Elle’s dad ‘Wyatt.” He will work opposite Lexi Minetree who plays the titular teen and June Diane Raphael as his wife Eva.
In the original film, Wyatt was played by James Read, who alongside his wife tried to dissuade Elle from attending Harvard. Showrunners Kittrell and Caroline Dries executive produce with Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine and the films’ producer Marc Platt.
