Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips has admitted his England call-up came as something of a shock.Phillips shone for the Whites as they earned promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.He is one of three uncapped players to be included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for next month’s Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark.Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden have also been called up for the Three Lions.
Though midfielder Phillips has said he was not expecting Southgate’s call so early in his career.“I don’t think I was expecting to get into the England squad this early, even before the season has started,” Phillips told Sky Sports.”I thought it would take quite a while, to be honest, but maybe I got lucky, I don’t.
