A talented Lanarkshire musician won the prestigious women’s gold medal at this year’s Royal National Mod. Mairi Aisling Callan, from the village of Annathill near Coatbridge, took the award on what was her debut performance in the adult contests at the festival of Gaelic song and culture.
The singer impressed judges with her “show-stopping performance” at the event in Inverness, where the Mod was taking place in person for the first time since 2019 after last year’s event was held virtually.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
