Lanarkshire pupils take on public speaking challenge

Pupils from four Lanarkshire schools were in fine voice as they took part in the sixth annual schools’ public speaking competition run by the Lieutenancy of Lanarkshire.It saw third-year pupils give a series of impressive speeches on the theme of citizenship, community and fostering a culturally diverse society; and saw judges praise the participants for their “exceptional efforts”.Dalziel High in Motherwell took the top prize of a trophy and £500 for their school; while the teams from Braidhurst High in Motherwell, Carluke High and Trinity High in Rutherglen each received prizes of £250.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
