Labour could win back the 'Red Wall' seats it lost to the Conservatives at the last election depriving Boris Johnson of his majority, new polling has found.
The poll, which shows a reverse in the position from last year's general election, suggests the Tories are struggling to hold onto the support they won in 2019.
Many respondents cited the Government's confusing Covid messaging and Dominic Cummings ' trip to Barnard castle, revealed by the Mirror, as reasons for switching.
The poll of 500 people for Channel 4 News by JL Partners found the PM has a negative rating of -3% in 45 seats his party gained from Labour in the North, Midlands, and Wales, while Keir Starmer was on +18%.
