A knifeman left his friend fighting for his life after stabbing him in the neck in an unexplained attack. David Timperley knifed his victim without warning after turning up outside his home in Hyde, Tameside.
The 51-year-old was armed with a kitchen knife and suddenly stabbed the man, who regarded Timperley as a friend. Minshull Street Crown Court heard the pair socialised and that Timperley had even ‘saved his life’ when he suffered a seizure.
But the attack, on November 22, 2023, left his victim in a life-threatening condition. The court heard that at about 11pm, Timperley left his home armed with a knife.
He walked to the victim’s home and knocked on his window. He told Timperley ‘in no uncertain terms’ he did not want to be disturbed.
