TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher has shared her support for brother-in-law Russell Brand after the comedian denied 'serious' and 'criminal' allegations in a statement last night.
Russell, who is married to Kirsty's younger sister Laura, 36, took to his YouTube channel saying he 'absolutely denied' serious allegations ahead of tonight's mystery Channel 4 Dispatches programme.In his statement, Russell, 48, told his followers his 'transparency regarding his promiscuity' has been 'metastasized into something criminal' in the video – but didn't go into detail about the allegations put to him in a letter and email.Kirsty, 47, shared the video clip to her Instagram Stories alongside a heart emoji.In the video, Russell said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email.
One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.""But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.
These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies.
