The first £1 coins featuring King Charles III have been released into circulation, marking a historic change to the nation's currency.
Nearly three million of the newly designed coins will be distributed across the UK through Post Offices and banks this week.
On the 'tails' side, the coin features a pair of British bees, symbolising the King's dedication to conservation and nature.
The 'heads' side features Charles' official effigy. Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coin at The Royal Mint, commented: "The Royal Mint has made the circulating coinage of each of Britain's monarchs since Alfred the Great and it is an honour to reveal that King Charles III's £1 coin is now in circulation."
