On Sunday September 8, it will officially be two years since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II with a former royal butler revealing exactly how the Firm will mark this sombre occasion, both in public and in private. The former monarch passed away at 96-years-old, surrounded by family at her beloved Balmoral home in Scotland in 2022.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Paul Burrell, claims the Firm will all congregate together in private on Sunday and are likely to mark the Queen's anniversary by 'having a dinner in memory' of Her Majesty.

He added that King Charles will likely 'make a toast' in honour of his late mother, who served as Britain's longest-reigning monarch.Acknowledging that it will be a very 'sombre' and 'poignant' time for the royals, he believes that the Firm will also publicly mark the date and will attend church.Mr Burrell notes that King Charles' time at Balmoral this year will have been especially emotional as he said: "I think [this year in Balmoral will be particularly poignant for Charles] because it’s two years into being king, two years since his mother died.

Balmoral is a very poignant place, because time stands still and our dear Queen casts a long shadow over everything."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions,
