Losing the connection with Lilibet was deeply upsetting for the Queen in her final years, according to the ex-royal aide.Burrell added that when the Sussexes returned to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, the Queen still didn't get to see her granddaughter on her first birthday.
