Princess Margaret's daughter was said to be "adored" by her aunt as she would spend huge amounts of time at Buckingham Palace as a child and was the only member of the Royal Family who would be invited to join the monarch at her favourite Scottish retreat, Craigowan Lodge.
But the late Queen was not the only royal with whom Lady Sarah shared a close bond with as she also has a tight-knit friendship with her cousin, King Charles thanks to their many shared interests.
