King Charles has arrived at Buckingham Palace for the first time as monarch this afternoon. The King's state Bentley arrived at the gates of Buckingham Palace and was met by cheers from members of the public gathered outside.
He was pictured alongside Queen Camilla accepting flowers from well-wishers as he arrived flanked by a security detail ahead of his address to the nation this evening.
King Charles shook hands with countless members of the public lined up behind a barrier, thanking them for their good wishes.
The Queen followed behind at a distance, before joining the King at his side to view the floral tributes left outside the gates.
