msn.comTMZ broke the news after a well-documented stressful two years for the couple. Last year Kanye who has Bipolar disorder, announced on Twitter he first wanted to divorce his wife but days later apologised for his social media outbursts.
According to the site, Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the children. Kanye is said to be happy with the arrangement, adding that they are both committed to co-parenting together.
It's also reported that neither party is contesting the prenup and that the former couple is already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement.
A source told E News: "Kim is definitely sad but she feels confident in her decision to divorce him, because she knows it's what's best for herself and her.
