Kate Middleton comforted a young boy whose dad was killed in Afghanistan as he proudly wore the fallen serviceman's three medals.

The Duchess of Cambridge joined husband Prince William in marking Remembrance Week with multiple video calls to both serving personnel and family of those who have died.

The royal couple, both aged 38, were part of the stripped down service at the Cenotaph on Sunday amid making heartfelt calls, with the Duke telling those serving overseas he is "grateful".

On Tuesday, mum-of-three Kate spoke to Charlton Taylor, 11, from Rhyl, Wales, whose dad Royal Marine Michael Taylor was killed in action in 2010.
