Kate Garraway has opened up about her husband Derek Draper's heartbreaking battle with Covid, which has seen him be treated in hospital for a year.
Derek was first admitted to hospital in March 2020, and was placed into a medically induced coma to try and aid his recovery.
He has since woken up, but has been in a minimal state of consciousness as the virus has ravaged his organs. Kate has recently given an insight into the agony Derek is facing as he "comes up" to consciousness, and she revealed that the pain was too much for Derek to bear at one point.
In Finding Derek, Kate's documentary about Derek's battle with coronavirus, the Mirror reports viewers can hear Derek saying: "Kate, there’s no way out.
