Kate Garraway has paid an emotional tribute to the nurses who worked tirelessly to care for husband Derek Draper amid his battle with Covid-19.The former political adviser, 53, recently returned home where he will receive around-the-clock care after he spent over a year in the hospital battling the disease and the various complications which followed.Speaking about having Derek – with whom she shares children Darcey and Billy – back in the family, home, the Good Morning Britain star, 54, said she was on the verge of tears as she marked International Nurses Day.Kate told Heart Breakfast’s Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden she had previously held an ‘ignorant’ view of the important role nurses have, however after witnessing them care for her.
