Kanye West in legal row after missing presidential election filing deadline by seconds

Kanye West's bid to be president of the United States of America has hit another road block. The rapper, 43, who is hoping to be elected to sit in the Oval Office, is taking legal action to make sure he is a candidate for the presidential election in Wisconsin after officials ruled he missed the filing deadline.

In the swing state of Wisconsin, the hitmaker missed the 5pm filing deadline on 4 August by 14 seconds, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

In retaliation Kanye then filed a legal complaint claiming that state law "does not distinguish between minutes and seconds" and so he should be on the ballot on Monday. "For the average observer, arriving before 5:01 p.m.
