Jurors shown footage of topless Benjamin Mendy with trousers 'half down' in Manchester club days before rape charge

Jurors were shown footage of Benjamin Mendy stood on a table topless in a Manchester nightclub with his trousers 'half down', days before he was charged with rape.

The 28-year-old defender denies all charges he faces and is currently on trial at Chester Crown Court. He has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of rape against five women, one count of attempted rape, and one count of sexual assault.

The allegations, said to have occurred between October 2018 and August last year, relate to seven women in total. Woman Six, who alleges she was raped by Mr Mendy at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire, gave evidence in court for a second day.

She claims that she woke up to find Mr Mendy raping her at his house in July 2021. Mr Mendy claims they had consensual sex. "I possibly went back about four times but I don't remember 11 times," the woman replied in evidence yesterday.
