A man who drove from Fallowfield to dump rubbish in a Salford street has been branded "selfish" and utterly irresponsible by council bosses.
Ghulam Ahmadzai, of Aston Avenue, was caught on CCTV dumping a large cushion, a trampoline mat and other waste from his Mercedes van just after 2pm on May 30 last year.
Manchester Magistrates' Court heard that despite the pandemic, all 20 household waste disposal sites across Greater Manchester were open – and the closest Manchester site was just over four miles away from Ahmadzai’s home.
He was traced through his car registration plate and admitted he had dumped the rubbish on Cambridge Street in Salford.
