Jurgen Klopp has revealed how he joined Sir Alex Ferguson for a breakfast meeting at the start of his Liverpool career which sparked a blossoming relationship between the pair.
The Reds boss claims Ferguson was the first coach from these shores he had the fortune of meeting after taking the reins at Anfield, and hailed the ex-Man Utd manager as "the Pope".
Klopp has since put Liverpool back on their perch - as Fergie famously referred to it - and was awarded the 2019/20 LMA Manager of the Year, after leading Liverpool to their first domestic title in 30 years.
