Junior doctors will 'probably never face as much death again' after Covid pandemic

Junior doctors have told how they have witnessed more death during the pandemic than they ever will throughout their careers, less than a year into entering the workforce.

Junior doctor Fae told the Mirror: “As a new doctor it was a huge challenge, I had never experienced so much death and critical illness and probably never will again.” Among the junior doctors who have been at the forefront of the pandemic workforce, approximately 6,000 are medical students who graduated early to help the join NHS’s Covid fight.

Fae was one of these early graduates, starting work in April 2020 as a foundation interim year one doctor at the RVI Newcastle.
