Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing a last-gasp move for Sunderland ace Joe Hugill. It comes after news broke of Manchester United agreeing a scholarship deal with the 16-year-old.
The youngster is the latest prospect from the north-west to attend the 'Academy of Light' programme, that includes the likes of Jordan Pickford, Josh Maja and Conor Hourihane.
However, a transfer has not been agreed with Sunderland, who are due a sum of cash if Hugill decides to leave the Black Cats.
They are entitled to training and development costs, which Football Insider believe to be about £300,000. And a host of clubs are still vying for his signature.
